I am Here
An interactive workshop to explore why we might need to talk about communicating listening to teenagers, why it might be different to communicating with adults and how this differs in our professional environments. You will learn basic listening skills, look at how to ‘be with’ a young person and why that may be challenging. The workshop will touch on self-awareness and safeguarding. Suitable for any professional working with young people.
Tuesday May 1st, 9:30–12:00
What’s All This Anger About?
An interactive workshop that looks beyond the face of anger, it challenges whether or not anger is our enemy and encourages the participant to look at what is going on behind the ‘angry’ young person. We will look at what actually happens as a process when we are angry, whether or not we can ‘manage’ anger and what we can do. Can include some case study question/answer time. Suitable for any professional working with young people.
Tuesday May 8th, 9:30–12:00
Neglect & Abuse
A workshop that looks at developmental trauma and complex PTSD which results from neglect and abuse in childhood. We will examine the brain process and response, how this presents itself in teen years and ways in which we can understand and help the young person who presents with trauma symptoms, how they view the world and what can be done to help. Can include some case study question/answer time. Suitable for any professional working with young people.
Tuesday May 15th, 9:30–12:00
